Preserve flowers in a clear resin heart

A wedding bouquet, a delicate hydrangea or a small arrangement of dried flowers can become a memorable decorative casting. The "Heart" silicone mold lets you arrange pre-dried flowers and cast them in clear epoxy resin. Choose flowers and the arrangement to fit the cavity size; fitting a whole bouquet is not guaranteed.

We make the mold from platinum-cure silicone in our signature mint color. The inner surface is perfectly glossy. Cavity size: 198.8 × 168.3 mm, depth 35 mm. Outer dimensions: 216.8 × 187.7 × 42 mm, bottom 7 mm, walls 9 mm.

Important pour-height limit

Without external support, pour layers no higher than 30 mm. Filling above 30 mm requires an external plastic shell that supports the mold walls; it is not included in this offer, please ask about it separately. The 35 mm geometric depth does not mean the mold can be filled to the rim without support.

How much resin you need

The geometric volume of the empty cavity at a 30 mm fill height is approximately 717 ml; filling the full 35 mm cavity takes approximately 836 ml. This is calculated from the CAD model, not the actual resin consumption: flowers and other inclusions displace part of the volume, and to convert milliliters to grams you need the density of your resin. Allow a working reserve and follow the resin manufacturer's instructions.

Working with flowers

• Dry the flowers completely before they touch the resin. Fresh or damp flowers are not suitable.
• Check that the arrangement fits the cavity and does not stick out above the intended pour level.
• Place the clean, dry mold on a level, stable surface. For pours above 30 mm use an external plastic shell.
• Prepare the resin according to the manufacturer's and safety instructions (suitable gloves, ventilation, protective equipment). Do not work with resin near food.
• Demold after the cure time stated in the resin instructions. Do not damage the mold with sharp tools.

Food contact and temperature

According to the manufacturer, the silicone used is suitable for food contact and withstands temperatures up to 210 °C. Use separate molds for food and for epoxy resin; never use a mold that has been in contact with resin for food. The temperature rating alone is not a confirmation of oven/baking use.
